INJURED BABY MYNA BIRD FOOD
Friday, April 16th, 2010ONCE UPON A TIME there was a baby bird attempting to learn how to fly.
Her name was Georgina, and she was just reincarnated as a Myna bird after dying from a very bad mugging in Redfern, where she was shot several times on her tramp stamp by a shitload of bbs while being strangled and suffocated with a plastic bag. But that is another story.
So Georgina’s parents decided that it would be a good idea to throw her from the tree branch. (insert ableist joke)
Unfortunately, Georgina’s wings did not serve her any purpose and she fell flat on the cobblestones / concrete brick path near the bus stop, being stunned for a few moments while her parents tried to figure out how to get her back on the nest.
All the while a boy whistling did not see her and kicked her very far!!!
I hear baby bird cries and I try to figure out what violent attack has happened and I see such boy wondering if he must finish Georgina off, mending her suffering.
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU SUCK!!!!!!!!! I claim. And pick up baby bird, cradling her with my hands.
But she is a pest bird! says the head of the boy, and he verbalizes as baby bird must not want to live any longer / her parents will take care of her.
But Cata knows best. I take Georgina with me to school that day
and she happily hangs out on my finger and won’t let go. The security bus driver was tripped out by the noise, and became very happy once he saw I was loving a baby bird back to health.
I am very grateful that this happened to some degree, I think Myna birds are really cute and got tired of boys telling me that they are the single birds in Australia that it is legal to kill at will. THAT IS SO HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now I can haz pet!!!!!!!!
WHAT TO FEED A VEGAN MYNA BIRD:
1/4 cup of hummus
1/8 cup of red miso
1/4 cup of soup stock (or more, if she likes it more watery)
a squirt of juice from half of a lemon to keep it fresh for the day
feed with a diabetic sized syringe (but no needle) whenever she peeps, until she falls asleep.
cuddle her with a well-worn scarf, as she likes to smell who loves her.
make a nest in the laundry basket. she will burrow in there by herself. she will also sleep on the side of such basket, as it resembles a treebranch to some degree.
Myna birds like being petted. And they will love you back =^.^= yes, they even love a kitteh like me!!!
